Eligibility Criteria For NEET-UG Exam

Eligibility Criteria For Indian Students
- For the general category of students, at least 50% of scores are required in 12TH (PCB), for SC/ST/OBC students 40%, and PwDs is 45%.
- 25 years is the maximum age to take the NEET Exam for the students of General candidates. Whereas for reserved categories such as OBC/SC/ST/PwBD is 30 years.d
- Students should have completed a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of admission. This is for all categories i.e General as well as Reserved
- Now, the applicants from the UT of J&K, and Ladakh are not allowed to appear under the 15% All India quota, for the counseling of MCC/DGHS which is for admission into the MBBS, BDS. They have another option that is for the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBPEE) counseling.
- If in the case they are eligible, then J&K applicants can fill out an “online self-declaration form”, which would be attached to the confirmationa page. That’s how they will be suitable for AIMS, AFMC, JIPMER, Deemed/Private Universities, and Medical/Dental Colleges
Eligibility Criteria For OCI/NRI Candidates
- The decision of eligibility of OCI and PIO cardholders is based on MHA notification
- Foreign candidates must have a legal passport to their countries.
- 3. Certification of confirmation is a must to have. That is from the Indian Diplomatic Mission of their home country
Codes
Code 01 | Selected by applicants who have gone through Class 12th in 2021. In addition, it is a must for students to have documentary proof that shows they have done the 12th exam with the gained percentage. |
Code 02 | This is for ICSE applicants having English and PCMB (BIO/Biotech), any other elective subject rather than Maths is also possible. Moreover, it can be chosen by the candidates who have completed their 12th from the National Institute of Open Schooling, private applicants from the state boards, state open school, or for students having any gap. |
Code 03 | This is for the applicants who have completed their Intermediate/Pre-Exam degree in PCB along with English which is mandatory. Also, they must have done their practicals. |
Code 04 | Selected by students having finished pre-medical exams with English and PCB. Along with, have had the practical tests of all the subjects. |
Code 05 | This is for the applicants who have done their 12th class along with a first-year university exam and practicals in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Biotechnology. |
Code 06 | This is for the students who have done 12th class with English and PCB and also, B.Xd exams with minimum two subjects out of Biology/Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry. |
Code 07 | This is for the students who have finished two years of theory and practical in PCB and English. And, have cleared any other exam equal to a university-level science exam. If |
foreign students’ equivalence of their exams is approved by India’s 12th class boards, then they have to choose this code.
The actions related to verifying the equivalence are taken by the Association of Inidian Universities (AIU). They change grades into marks, too.
Application Process of NEET-UG Exam

The first step is to log in, following the login to the official website of NEET. Fill out your details such as name, age, D.O.B., etc. Then, applicants have to give a minimum of one out of the following mentioned ID Information:
- Ration Card
- Passbook with photo
- EPIC number
- Last four digits of the Aadhaar Number
- School I-card number
- Class 12th admit card along with photo
- Number of any government-issued photo ID
For NRIs, they have to give the last four digits of Aadhaar, whereas OCIs and foreign nationals should give Citizenship Certificate numbers. This is another option for both that they can give passport numbers.
